Yanagawa River Cruise
In Yanagawa, a former castle town and the hometown of the poet Kitahara Hakushu, the famous "river cruise" takes "donko-bune" boats along the moats that run all over the town. Listening to the boatman's guide and boat songs, you go round about 4 km of moats in about an hour; in winter "kotatsu" boats with a brazier are also run.
