Yame Central Tea Plantation
A great tea plantation (70 ha) spreading over gently sloping hills, a major producer of Yame tea, Fukuoka's leading brand of tea. The view from the observation point at the top is like a green carpet, and on clear days you can see the Ariake Sea and the Shimabara Peninsula. The best season is April to mid-May when tea is picked, and at the cafe "Green Monster" at the observation point you can enjoy Yame tea and Yame tea soft-serve ice cream.
