Sofuku-ji Temple
A temple founded in 1629 by the Chinese monk Chozen at the request of Chinese from the Fuzhou area, also called "Fukushu-dera", with a gate recalling a dragon palace gate and the elaborate "Daiippomon". The statues and ritual objects in its halls are all by Chinese master craftsmen, a miniature of late Ming culture; the Daiippomon and the main hall are National Treasures. Like Nagasaki's other Chinese temples it has a Maso hall, enshrining the sea goddess to whom Chinese ship owners prayed for safe voyages.
