Kameyama Shachu Memorial Museum
A museum on the site of the "Kameyama Shachu", founded in 1865 by Sakamoto Ryoma and some twenty comrades with help from the Satsuma domain and the Nagasaki merchant Kosone family - Japan's first trading company and private navy. It is said to have played a large role in brokering the Satsuma-Choshu Alliance. The dilapidated building was restored close to its original form and opened in 2009; you can climb a ladder into what is thought to be a hidden mezzanine, and Ryoma-related items such as a replica of his boots are on display.
