Shiraito Falls (Itoshima)
A 24 m waterfall halfway up Mt. Hagane (900 m) in southern Itoshima, falling over the rock like silk threads. Around the "Fureai no Sato" by the falls are a tea house, a waterwheel and an observation deck; from around Golden Week you can try yamame trout fishing and "nagashi somen" (flowing noodles). From mid-June to early July over 100,000 hydrangeas bloom, and in autumn the leaves take on colour.

Itoshima community bus (Shiraito line) from the south exit of Chikuzen-Maebaru Station (JR Chikuhi Line) to Shiraito, then about 25 minutes on foot along the path.
