Raizan Sennyoji Daihioin Temple
A temple founded by the Indian monk Seiga, also called "Raizan Kannon", on the northern slope of Mt. Rai; during the Mongol invasions it played an important role as a prayer temple of the Kamakura shogunate. The standing Thousand-armed Kannon and the seated statue of Seiga (Important Cultural Properties) and the "shinji" garden can always be seen, and the 400-year-old great maple (a prefectural natural monument) is best in mid-November.
