One-Legged Torii (Sanno Shrine)
Sanno Shrine stands on high ground about 800 m south-east of the hypocentre and was damaged by the atomic bomb in August 1945; the buildings collapsed and were rebuilt in 1950. Of its torii gates, only this one still stands as it was, with just its right pillar left; the blown-off left half is kept by the nearby road. Visiting before the Atomic Bomb Museum deepens understanding.
