Kumano, Mie / 鬼ヶ城
Onigajo Rocks
A huge rock wall created by uplift from earthquakes, weathering and wave erosion. It is a national place of scenic beauty and natural monument, and part of the World Heritage "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range". A walking path of about 1 km runs along the wall past countless caves and strange rocks, and from the "Oni no Miharashidai" lookout you can see the Kumano Sea; four kinds of cherry trees bloom in turn along the hiking course in spring.
