Shingu, Wakayama / 熊野速玉大社
Kumano Hayatama Taisha
One of the three Kumano shrines, with vivid vermilion buildings, registered as part of the UNESCO World Heritage "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range". In the grounds is a 1,000-year-old nagi tree, a natural monument, and the Kumano Shinpokan holds about 1,000 National Treasures, such as Muromachi-period maki-e boxes and fans, some of which are on display.
