Nagoya Castle Museum and Ruins
The national special historic site "Nagoya Castle Ruins and Camp Sites" was the base for Toyotomi Hideyoshi's invasions of Korea (1592-1598); within 3 km of the castle over 150 camp sites of daimyo from all over Japan remain. The castle, 170,000 m² and completed in just five months, was then second in size only to Osaka Castle, and a castle town of over 200,000 people grew around it. The adjoining museum presents the history of exchange between the Japanese archipelago and the Korean Peninsula, with reconstructions of Hideyoshi's "golden tea room" and a bamboo tea hut.
