Bungotakada, Oita / 真玉海岸の夕陽
Matama Coast Sunset
Known as the only place in Oita where you can see the sun set into the horizon; on clear evenings everything turns red and the orange setting sun is reflected on the water. It is chosen as one of Japan's 100 best sunsets. Even at the lowest tide some water remains on the tidal flats, and the flats and the water shining gold in the sunset draw many photographers.
