Bungotakada Showa Town
A town where the lively shopping street of the Showa 30s has been revived. Shops display a "treasure" telling their history and sell a speciality handed down through generations, and walking among the retro signs and buildings feels like slipping back to the Showa era. A bonnet bus runs a free loop mainly on Sundays and holidays, and in 2017 the town won the Asian Townscape Award.
