Kaike Onsen
A hot spring area at the eastern end of the Yumigahama Peninsula, facing Miho Bay on the Sea of Japan, with a beautiful coastline of white sand and green pines and views of Mt. Daisen, the highest peak in the Chugoku region. Fishermen long said warm water bubbled up when they dived off Kaike, and a natural spring was found in 1900 (Meiji 33). With 30 inns and public lodgings that can take 4,000 guests, it is the largest hot spring area in San'in, and a convenient base for touring Tottori and Shimane.
