Fukuyama, Hiroshima / 福禅寺 対潮楼
Fukuzen-ji Taichoro Hall
A guest hall next to the main hall of Fukuzen-ji, built around 1690 in the Genroku era and designated a national historic site. The sea view from its room is superb: in 1711 Yi Bang-eon of the Korean envoy mission praised it as "Nitto daiichi keisho" (the finest scenery in Japan), and in 1748 Hong Gyeong-hae left the calligraphy "Taichoro".
