Akizuki Castle Ruins
The site of a castle built in the early Edo period by Kuroda Nagaoki in Akizuki, Asakura, called "the little Kyoto of Chikuzen". Stone walls, the Kuromon gate and the Nagayamon gate keep the look of the past, and you can take a history walk together with the streets of the castle town. The cherry avenue and tunnel of autumn leaves on "Sugi-no-baba" are especially fine, and old-house cafes and a museum dot the area.
