Kuki, Saitama / 鷲宮神社
Washinomiya Shrine
Said to be the oldest great shrine in Kanto and the head shrine of "Otori-sama", it appears often in the Kamakura-period history "Azuma Kagami" and was revered by Kanto warriors. Its "Washinomiya Saibara Kagura" is a national Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, said to be the source of Kanto kagura. In recent years fans from across Japan and abroad have visited it as an anime "sacred place".
