Wakasa Railway Wakasa Station
The terminus of the Wakasa Railway, with its head office and depot. Several facilities for running steam locomotives remain; after the turntable was restored, the C12 167 locomotive that once ran on the line was obtained from Taka in Hyogo and is being preserved. With a platform ticket you can see the locomotive, including inside the cab. In 2008 the line's old facilities were registered together as Tangible Cultural Properties, the first such case in Japan.
