Toyama Castle (Toyama Municipal Folkcraft Museum of Local History)
A castle chosen for the "Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles", in Toyama Castle Ruins Park with its moats and stone walls. The present castle was built in 1954. Inside, the local history museum explains more than 400 years of the castle's history with models and videos, including a 140 cm helmet used by Maeda Toshinaga. The top-floor observation deck looks over the city centre and the Edo-period castle grounds.
