Tagawa City Coal Mining Historical Museum
A museum in Coal Memorial Park where you can learn the history of the Tagawa area, opened in 1983 on the site of the former Mitsui Tagawa Mining Ida pit. It holds 585 record paintings and 42 record documents of the Sakubei Yamamoto Collection, registered in the "Memory of the World", and shows some of them; it also has the only reconstructed coal miners' house in Japan, and the Ida pit headframe and chimneys are preserved in the park.
