Shiki no Sato (Fukushima City Rural Manufacture Park)
A large rural park designed after medieval Europe, opened in July 1995. It has a craft hall where you can paint kokeshi dolls, a farm market, a garden cafe (weekends), a water mill, a woodland square, a herb garden, and outdoor play facilities such as a splash pond, battery cars and rope climbing. The rose garden, with old roses and more, is at its best from early June, and there is an illumination from mid-January to early February. Entry is free.

By bus on weekdays: from JR Fukushima Station east exit (stop 7), Fukushima Kotsu bus for Tsuchiyu Onsen to Shiki-no-sato Iriguchi (about 30 minutes), then 10 minutes on foot. On holidays: the same bus (about 30 minutes, then 10 minutes on foot), or the bus for Shiki-no-sato via Sawara from stop 7 to Shiki-no-sato (about 40 minutes), then 1 minute on foot. By car, about 10 minutes from Fukushima-nishi IC (Tohoku Expressway, via Route 115), about 25 minutes from Fukushima Station.
