Setogura Museum

"Setogura", in central Seto, is a tourism hub with the Setogura Museum, a hall, an information desk and restaurants. The museum on the 2nd and 3rd floors covers Seto and its pottery under the theme "Seto in the 20th century", with over 1,000 years of history. On the 2nd floor are a reconstruction of Owari-Seto Station, demolished in 2001, and the "Setoden" train car Mo 754, whose driver's seat you can sit in, along with a workshop, a coal kiln and a chimney. On the 1st floor, "Setogura Ceramic Plaza", renewed in June 2020, sells Seto ware at kiln-cooperative prices.

Getting there: By car, 30 minutes from Nagoya IC (Tomei Expressway) or 10 minutes from Seto-Akazu IC (Tokai-Kanjo Expressway). By train, from Nagoya Station take the Higashiyama subway line to Sakae, change to the Meitetsu Seto Line at Sakaemachi to Owari-Seto, then walk 5 minutes east.
