Senko-ji Temple
A Shingon temple said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi in Daido 1 (806), halfway up Mt. Senkoji; Senkoji Park is laid out around it. Its symbols are the vermilion main hall "Akado" and the bell tower, whose bell is one of the 100 Soundscapes of Japan, and the grounds have many huge rocks such as the "Tama-no-iwa". The view from the grounds is one of Onomichi's signature scenes.
