Takada Honzan Senju-ji Temple
The head temple of the Takada school of Shin Buddhism, founded by Shinran, affectionately called "Takada Honzan". Its Miedo, designated a National Treasure in 2017 and the fifth-largest National Treasure wooden building, and the Nyoraido, with superb carvings, were the first buildings in Mie to become National Treasures; 11 Important Cultural Properties stand in grounds the size of two Tokyo Domes, and many lotuses bloom in summer.
