Matsusaka, Mie / 本居宣長宅跡
Site of Motoori Norinaga's House
The site of the townhouse called "Suzunoya" where the scholar of national learning and the classics Motoori Norinaga lived. He moved here from his birthplace at the age of 12 and devoted himself to study all his life; it is a national special historic site. The house itself was moved to Matsusaka Castle Ruins Park in Meiji 42 and is preserved there.
