Oura Church

Built in the Nagasaki foreign settlement after Japan opened at the end of the Edo period, known as the oldest surviving church in Japan: a Gothic-style church with beautiful stained glass on Glover Street in Minamiyamate. In March of the year after its completion at the end of 1864, hidden Christians from Urakami came and professed their faith, the "Discovery of the Christians". It is a National Treasure and one of the components of the World Heritage "Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region", and the neighbouring buildings are open as the Christian Museum.
