Takamatsu, Kagawa / 男木島
Ogijima Island
An island about 1 km from Megijima, with a rare granite Western-style lighthouse built in 1895 (Meiji 28), still working after more than 100 years. Level ground is scarce, and its dense village, sloping steps and stone paving make up the scenery; the name is said to come from the fan ("ogi") shot by Nasu no Yoichi in the Genpei War that drifted ashore here.
