Naoshima Island
An island of nature, art and the environment. For art there are the Chichu Art Museum, the Benesse House Museum and the Art House Project, which fuses old houses in the village with contemporary art; public buildings such as the schools and the gym in the centre of the island are also distinctive architectural works. In spring the town flower, the mountain azalea, blooms, and there are swimming beaches and a fishing park.
