FUJI Nagoya Science Museum

A general science museum with the concept "see, touch and check", where children and adults can enjoy science through exhibits and hands-on experiences. Its planetarium, "FUJI Sky Dome", holds a Guinness record for its dome, 35 m in inner diameter and among the largest in the world, and aims to recreate a starry sky as close to the real thing as possible; the theme changes monthly. There are about 260 kinds of exhibits, including four large ones such as a room at minus 30 degrees with aurora images, a 9 m artificial tornado and electrical discharge shows.

Getting there: By car, about 5 minutes from the Shirakawa exit (Nagoya Expressway). By train, take the Higashiyama subway line from Nagoya to Fushimi, then about 5 minutes on foot from exit 4 or 5. By city bus C-758 from Nagoya Station (stop 9) to Hirokoji-Fushimi, then about 6 minutes on foot; or city buses Sakae 22, C-758 or Me-guru to Hirokoji-Fushimi (stop 3), then about 5 minutes on foot; or Meitetsu Bus from Meitetsu Bus Center to Shirakawa-koen-mae, then about 5 minutes on foot.
