Takachiho, Miyazaki / 国見ヶ丘
Kunimigaoka
A viewpoint about 513 m high with the best view in the Takachiho Basin: the Aso Five Peaks to the west, the Sobo mountains to the north, and the basin and the Gokase River below to the east. On early mornings from late September to early December, when conditions are right, a sea of clouds can be seen; clear, windless, cold mornings give the best chance. Its view has a star in the Michelin Green Guide Japan.
