Korankei Gorge
A gorge coloured through the seasons. In autumn about 4,000 trees turn red and yellow over the Tomoe River; from November 1 to 30 the Korankei Momiji Festival is held, with light-up from sunset to 21:00. The gorge is also a treasure house of wild plants: from late March to early April a 5,000 m2 colony of katakuri (dogtooth violet) is in full bloom.
