Toyooka, Hyogo / 城崎温泉
Kinosaki Onsen
One of the Kansai region's leading hot spring towns, with about 1,300 years of history, on the Sea of Japan side of northern Hyogo. Willows line the Otani River through the town, and the "sotoyu meguri", strolling in yukata between several public bathhouses, is a local speciality; snow crab in winter and Tajima beef and seafood all year round are also enjoyed.
