Uozu, Toyama / 東山円筒分水槽
Higashiyama Cylindrical Water Divider
A cylindrical water divider, a registered Tangible Cultural Property, that shares water fairly among three irrigation channels in the Higashiyama district, with water welling up by siphon power. It is 9.12 m across; the share of water for each channel is set by the length of the cylinder's circumference. Such a large drop of overflowing water is rare, and it is described online as "Japan's most beautiful" cylindrical water divider. A pocket park overlooking it was built by Uozu city in December 2020.
