Hakata Salt Omishima Factory
The factory of "Hakata no Shio", a flavourful salt that keeps some bittern. A viewing corridor shows the process from dissolving imported sun-dried sea salt in Japanese seawater and removing impurities to drying and packing, and the entrance has the "Hakata no Shio chime" that plays the melody from the TV advertisement. The lobby has a corner to taste weak salt water and salt experiments, and a recreation of the former flow-down salt field with branch racks can be seen on the grounds.
