Atsuta Jingu Shrine
A shrine long revered as "Atsuta-san", founded, it is said, in 113. The deity Atsuta-no-Okami is Amaterasu with the Kusanagi sword, one of the three sacred treasures of the imperial regalia, as its sacred object. The grounds of about 190,000 m2 are thick with trees, including camphor trees said to be over 1,000 years old. The treasure hall holds more than 6,000 offerings, over 170 of them designated cultural properties. Since 2012 visitors can worship at Ichi-no-Misaki Shrine, at the innermost part of the grounds.
