Yunohira Observatory
At 373 m on the fourth station of Sakurajima's North Peak, the highest of the island's observatories and the highest point the public can reach. You look up at the rugged slopes of the South Peak sending up smoke, and down on Kinko Bay and the city of Kagoshima, with the Kirishima mountains to the north and Mt. Kaimon to the south. The night view of the city across the bay is also recommended; it is a stop on the "Sakurajima Island View" loop bus.
