Wakasa Mikata Jomon Museum
A museum on Jomon culture centred on finds from the Torihama shell mound in Wakasa. In a building modelled on the belly of a clay figurine, it shows a dugout canoe, Jomon pottery, stone tools, wooden objects, seeds and bones; the Jomon plaza outside has reconstructed pit dwellings. A combined ticket with the neighbouring Varve Museum is available.
