Kanonji, Kagawa / 雲辺寺ロープウェイ
Unpenji Ropeway
A ropeway 2,594 m long with a height difference of 657 m, climbing at up to 36 km/h. Below spread the Seto Inland Sea and the Mitoyo Plain, and on clear days you can see as far as the Seto Ohashi Bridge and the Chugoku region; the ride takes about 7 minutes. At the top, on the Kagawa-Tokushima border, is Unpenji, temple 66 of the Shikoku pilgrimage (on the Tokushima side), with over 1,200 years of history and known for hydrangeas and autumn leaves. On the Kagawa side, Unpenji Summit Park has a lawn, a wooden swing talked about on social media as the "swing in the sky", photo frames and a drinks van.
