Todai-ji Nigatsu-do Hall
The hall known for the Shuni-e ("Omizutori"), the ceremony that heralds spring, named Nigatsu-do ("Second Month Hall") because the ceremony was held here in the second month of the old calendar. It burned during the Shuni-e in Kanbun 7 (1667), and the present hall (National Treasure) was rebuilt two years later. The Shuni-e is held March 1-14.
