Nara National Museum

A museum in a corner of Nara Park next to Todai-ji, Kofuku-ji and Kasuga Taisha, where you can enjoy Buddhist art and the history and culture behind it. The Buddhist Sculpture Hall, completed in Meiji 27 (1894), was Nara's first full-scale Western building (Important Cultural Property). The Buddhist Sculpture Hall is closed for renovation from September 14, 2026 until around spring 2028 (planned).
