Shimane Art Museum
A museum on the theme of "harmony with water". Its collection galleries include the "Waterside Gallery" for paintings on the theme of water and the "Hokusai Gallery" for its Hokusai collection, one of the finest in the world; about 30 Hokusai works are always on view. The open lobby is a spot for sunsets over Lake Shinji, and closing time is set at 30 minutes after sunset.
