Matsue, Shimane / ごうぎんカラコロ美術館
Gogin Karakoro Art Museum
Opened in September 2012 east of Karakoro Kobo, in the former San'in Godo Bank north branch of 1926, renovated to keep its original look while blending in modern architecture. The 1st floor shows Western-style paintings by Japanese artists, centred on "Twin Dragons Soaring with Sun and Moon" painted for the museum by Koji Kinutani; the 2nd floor shows works such as prints by Matsue-born Unichi Hiratsuka.
