Sarutahiko Shrine
Sarutahiko-no-Okami is said to be the local god who guided the heavenly grandson Ninigi-no-Mikoto to this land and then devoted himself to developing the country around Ise; his descendant Ota-no-Mikoto offered the land by the upper Isuzu River when Princess Yamatohime sought a place for the Jingu. The shrine has been kept by his direct descendants, and the Omita rice-planting festival (a prefectural intangible cultural property) is held every May 5.
