Mihara, Hiroshima / 三景園
Sankeien Garden
A strolling Japanese garden of about 6 ha with a hill and pond, made to mark the opening of Hiroshima Airport. Modelled on Hiroshima's mountain valleys and the Seto Inland Sea, it has mountain, village and sea zones. There is a plum festival in March, fresh greenery, peonies and azaleas in May, a flower festival with 10,000 hydrangeas of 100 varieties in June, and an autumn-leaves festival in November.
