Ojibaru Park
At the foot of Mt. Takachiho, the main peak of the Kirishima range, a nature park centred on Ojibaru Shrine, standing where Emperor Jinmu is said to have been born. It has the large roofed wooden play structure "Mori", an indoor wooden-toy facility with bouldering, a roller slide, a 1.2 km go-kart course, trout fishing and small animals such as rabbits and goats, and trails past ancient tombs and dwellings. There are cottages, tent sites and day barbecues; Kawazu and Somei-Yoshino cherries bloom in spring and about 3 million red spider lilies in autumn.
