A ropeway and mini cable car up Mt. Moiwa, the classic spot for Sapporo's night view; open until 22:00 and wheelchair accessible all the way to the summit deck.

Opening hours

Ropeway: 10:30-22:00 in April-November, 11:00-22:00 in December-March. The last car up to the summit leaves at 21:30, so buy your ticket by about 21:25. Every 15 min.

Closed December 31 and January 1. In 2026 it was closed April 1-23 for annual maintenance. No service in bad weather.

Admission

Return from the base to the summit (ropeway plus mini cable car): adults 2,100 yen, children (elementary and under) 1,050 yen. Up to two preschool children free per adult. With a disability certificate (Mirairo ID accepted), 1,050 / 530 yen for the holder and one carer. Groups of 15+: 1,890 / 950 yen.

Getting there

Take the Sapporo streetcar to Ropeway-iriguchi, then the free shuttle bus (every 15 min, about 2 min; from 17:17 on weekdays and from 10:17 on weekends and holidays, 10:47 in winter) or walk about 10 min to the base station.

Parking

Paid car park (Times) at the base station: 95 cars and 5 coaches. The scenic toll road to the mid-station car park (about 80 cars) is open only April 24 - November 20, 2026, with entry restricted when full.

Payment

Credit cards (single payment only), e-money and QR-code payments at the ticket windows, shop and restaurant. The ticket machines at the mid and summit stations take cash only.

Accessibility

The whole facility is barrier-free; you can reach the summit deck in a wheelchair.
