Mt. Iino (Sanuki Fuji)
One of the "New 100 Mountains of Japan", Mt. Iino is nicknamed "Sanuki Fuji" for its gentle, beautiful slopes. At 422 m it is a small "Mt. Fuji", and in spring a carpet of peach blossom spreads at its foot. From the summit you see the rice-ball-shaped hills that seem to float on the Sanuki Plain and the calm blue Seto Inland Sea. It takes about an hour one way, so it is popular for walking and hiking. Legend says it was made by a giant called "Ojomo", and a huge rock at the summit is said to be his footprint.
