Mitsumine Shrine
A shrine whose origins go back about 2,000 years to the reign of Emperor Keiko. In the Kamakura period, when faith in Mt. Mitsumine spread, it was revered by Hatakeyama Shigetada and Nitta Yoshioki, and in the Edo period by the shogun's family and the Kishu Tokugawa family, whose offerings remain shrine treasures. In autumn the "Jugoya Tsukuyomi-sai" festival heralds autumn in the Chichibu mountains.
