Yokoze, Saitama / 寺坂棚田
Terasaka Rice Terraces
One of the largest rice terraces in Saitama, with Japanese rural scenery through the seasons; about 4 ha (about 250 fields) of the 5.2 ha site have been revived. In summer about 600 bonfires are lit for the "Kagaribi Festival", and in autumn about 2 million red spider lilies bloom, with the "Higanbana Festival" at the end of September among scarlet flowers and golden rice.
