Katsurahama Beach
A beautiful coast facing the Pacific in Kochi City, long known as a place for viewing the moon and one of Kochi's representative scenic spots. The curved beach, blue sea and pine grove behind are selected as one of Japan's 100 best beaches, and the bronze statue of Sakamoto Ryoma, hero of the late Edo period, gazing out at the Pacific is a symbol of sightseeing in Kochi.

Tosaden Kotsu bus from Minami-Harimayabashi to Katsurahama (last stop, about 30 minutes), then 5 minutes on foot to the beach; or the MY Yu Bus from JR Kochi Station (about 70 minutes).
