Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden
Opened on Godaisan in Kochi City in 1958 to honour the achievements of Dr. Tomitaro Makino, a botanist from Kochi. Across about 8 ha, over 3,000 kinds of plants through the seasons can be seen, including plants of southwestern Japan and ones associated with Dr. Makino. There is a jungle-like greenhouse with rare tropical plants and exhibits on his work, as well as a restaurant, café and shop.
